Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in Lubbock, TX, invites applications for an Asst/Assoc/Full Professor, Obstetrics & Gynecology – Laborist. The role supports inpatient obstetric care, education of students and residents, and collaboration with hospital partners across Odessa, Midland, and Permian Basin sites.

The department offers comprehensive OB services, including high-risk pregnancy care, ultrasound, and modern laboratories.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent.
• Completion of USMLE Step 3.
• Completion of, or in the process of completing, an OB/Gyn residency.

Responsibilities

• Work a shift-based schedule providing inpatient care.
• Manage patients admitted to the labor and delivery unit.
• Evaluate and treat patients in OB triage and the emergency department.
• Perform vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Respond to acute obstetrics emergencies and emergency surgical procedures.
• Manage postpartum floor care and complications.
• Participate in quality improvement, continuing education and patient care programs; educate medical students and residents.
