Job Description

Fair Labor Standards Act Classification: Exempt

This position involves providing Obstetric and Gynecologic care for HealthNet patients and some Methodist Hospital patients. Responsibilities include documenting patient care plans, ensuring continuity of care, patient education, and exercising cost-containment measures. The physician will care for patients in outpatient settings at HealthNet sites and inpatient settings at Methodist Hospital.

Responsibilities
  1. Direct Patient Care: Conduct diagnostic procedures, therapies, consultations, referrals, screenings, and preventive care.
  2. Interpersonal Care: Interact respectfully with patients and staff, actively listen, respond to questions, and communicate clearly. Apply health literacy methods when communicating with patients.
  3. Patient Care Documentation: Maintain accurate, concise, and legible records, including physical exams, immunizations, problem and medication records, allergies, assessments, and diagnostic procedures. Document progress notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries timely, maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  4. Hospital Care: Conduct daily rounds, oversee hospital staff, and ensure quality teaching to residents and students. Manage care for assigned patients and some private OB/GYN patients upon request.
  5. Administrative Services: Participate in provider performance audits, peer review, and quality assurance. Attend meetings punctually, return calls promptly, and follow infection control measures.
  6. Community Engagement: Make presentations, attend community and board meetings, and participate in professional networking activities.
  7. Diversity & Inclusion: Foster a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment, respecting all backgrounds and experiences.
