Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years related work experience in coding.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems.
• Basic familiarity with computers.

Responsibilities

• Review the complete medical record of discharged patients and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes.
• Abstract coded data into BIDMC's coding system with patient and procedure details.
• Follow Coding Clinic guidelines for ICD-10-CM/PCS coding.
• Ensure timely submission of codes to the billing system and resolve documentation issues as needed.
• Participate in training initiatives for ICD-10-CM updates and coding education.
