Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan is seeking a full-time OB/GYN physician to join an established employed practice delivering comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care.

You will collaborate with midwives, hospitalists, residents, medical students, and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists to provide high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and 2 years of direct or intern experience required.
• Current medical license in the state of Michigan.
• Current DEA and DPS certificate of registration.
• Maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges.
• Knowledge of professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and proper telephone etiquette.
• Ability to work in a setting that produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, involving standing, walking, lifting lightweight objects, and performing precise tasks.

Responsabilités

• Provide medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating clinical patients to meet their medical needs.
• Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources.
• Determine which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs.
• Determine level of urgency of follow‑up, referral/consultation appointments.
• Exercise final medical judgment in all issues of health care.
• Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients.
• Order studies, tests, and ancillary services.
• Document all services in the patient medical record.
• Review long‑term cases that require ongoing medical attention on a regular basis.
• Consult with Medical Director and other staff regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues.
• Participate in process improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient‑care programs established by the hospital or clinic requirements.
• Oversee mid‑level medical staff and nursing clinical staff as assigned.
• Assist in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations.
• Demonstrate commitment to providing outstanding customer service to all customers in a manner reflective of our mission, values, and customer service standards.
