The Parents and CaregiversCommunity (PACC) Programming Intern will help develop and deliverinitiatives that support Wichita State students who are balancingtheir education with parenting and caregivingresponsibilities. In this paid applied learning opportunity, you'll gain hands‑onexperience in program planning, family engagement, studentoutreach, data analysis, and project management. You'll assist withevents such as National Student Parent Month, help connect studentswith campus and community resources, gather feedback from studentparents, and support training initiatives that strengthenfamily-friendly practices across campus. This position is ideal for education majors interested in familyengagement, student success, community advocacy, higher education,or nonprofit careers. Through mentorship and real-world experience,you'll develop leadership, communication, and data-informeddecision-making skills while making a lasting impact on fellowstudents

Job Summary

A student assistant will carry out administrative and technicaltasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the studentassistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other studentsor provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of student support programs and aninterest in helping students who are balancing school withparenting or caregiving responsibilities.
  • Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, with theability to assist with events, outreach, and simplerecordkeeping.
  • Abilities: Ability to work well with others, stay organized, takeinitiative, and create a welcoming and supportive environment forfellow students.
Required Education

High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6credit hours at Wichita State University.

Additional Requirements

Applicant must be a student in the College of Education.

Required Experience

Physical Requirements

Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate acomputer and other office equipment including but not limited tophone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicatewith others and accurately exchange information.
