Job summary

Flanigan's Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a friendly host/hostess in Fort Lauderdale, FL to greet guests, manage seating, and guide guests to their tables. You will handle the wait list, answer questions, and keep the foyer and dining area clean and welcoming.

The role requires English proficiency, adherence to safety programs, and a five-day work week. Health benefits, 401(k), and shift meal discounts are among the offered perks.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Complete Florida Responsible Vendor program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Five (5) Day Work Week

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
• Manage the flow of seating and the wait list.
• Answer telephones within 4 rings and direct guests to the proper staff.
• Maintain a clean foyer, host/hostess station, and wait area; restock menus.
• Conclude guests’ visit with Flanigan’s Smile Talk and assist with opening/closing duties.

You’re the first smiling face our guests see every time they enter a Flanigan’s, and likely the last as they go on their merry way. You set the tone for the entire experience, greeting all of our friends and family in a warm and welcoming way. You help usher guests to their tables, manage the flow of seating, field inquiries, and greet people on the way out, just as nicely as on the way in. We’re always looking for the most friendly, hospitable people to join the team.

• Displays and maintains a cheerful and courteous temperament, as well as displays a neat and clean professional image
• Greets guests with Flanigan’s "Smile Talk"
• Engages guests in Flanigan’s "Smile Talk" while escorting them to table in a timely manner
• Efficiently manages the Wait List for seating
• Communicates guest’s questions or concerns to Manager on duty
• Keeps foyer, host/hostess station, wait area clean and free of debris, restocks and cleans menus
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guest
• Answers telephone within 4 rings, and answers guests’ questions, and/or directs guests to proper staff member
• Conclude guests’ visit with Flanigan’s "Smile Talk"
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to speak, read and write English
