Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Distribution Engineering Supervisor to lead a 5–8 engineer team on electrical distribution projects on Oahu, Hawaii. You will develop and review design packages, perform critical engineering calculations, and ensure safety and quality standards.

The role blends field and office work with relocation support for eligible hires. You will mentor engineers, coordinate with clients and agencies, and manage scope, schedule, and budget while traveling as required to project sites.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of prior relevant experience is required.
• ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial).
• Experience with NESC Standards, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, and Bluebeam and/or Adobe.
• Proven design experience for OH, UG, or URD distribution systems.
• Experience with ESRI and GIS is a plus.
• Experience with distribution design tools such as O-Calc and SAG10; BOUD, Pole Foreman, and Spida-Calc are a plus.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Willingness to perform field and office work.

Responsibilities

• Lead team of 5-8 engineers to develop design and construction work packages for distribution systems 4kV through 138kV.
• Oversee daily assignments for direct reports and provide technical leadership.
• Develop construction work packages, including engineering calculations and constructability checks.
• Train junior engineers and designers; support project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Review client-provided work and assess scope requirements; communicate progress and issues clearly.
• Coordinate with permit agencies and other stakeholders; travel to sites as needed.
• Perform engineering calculations (pole loading, sag/tension, voltage drop) and QA/QC reviews.
• Provide construction support and post-construction reviews to ensure standards compliance.
• Conduct root cause analysis of outages and implement mitigations.
