The Role

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.

This position will support facilities in either the technical services, project management, or crane engineering team. The successful candidate will provide technical support and project management related to construction and facilities projects. Position will involve significant field time in and around construction projects as well as production areas throughout the facility. Candidate will develop reports, sketches, designs, models and other job related documents for the purpose of design proposal requests, project development, fabrication and documentation. Review, assessment and summarization of technical scopes of work, competitive bid analysis / comparisons, verification of construction quality, and commissioning/startup support.

Candidate should have experience in aspects of design, machinery, and construction building systems. Trades and stake holder coordination will be required. Familiarity with construction drawings, BOMs and record drawings is required. Experience in other design and project software including AutoCAD, GIS and Autodesk Inventor, Microsoft Project is a plus.

Must Have

Associate's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

• NNS Apprentice School graduate
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
• High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
• High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
  
  

Nice to Have

• Strong working knowledge of utility infrastructure and systems
• Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment.
• Ability to build rapport and positive relationships with our production, engineering, and maintenance staffs.
• Proficiency in standard office software such as email and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to learn and use our Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS). We use SAP Plant Maintenance Module.
