Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an O&R Systems Engineer for Puget, Bremerton, WA. The role focuses on planning maintenance, repair, and modernization work for submarines, with hands-on support in shipyards and off-site facilities.

Qualifications

BS degree in engineering or higher.
1–5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.
Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
Willingness to travel and support off-site assignments.

Responsibilities

Plan submarine maintenance, repair, and modernization work with clear technical work documents.
Provide in-person support to shipyard execution onboard submarines and in the shipyard.
Troubleshoot to resolve execution roadblocks in a timely manner.
Collaborate with O&RE system engineers and interfacing departments to ensure compliance with procedures.
Evaluate technical rationale to approve non-conforming conditions.
Support test and certification of systems affected by technical work documents.
Assist with off-site projects at Electric Boat and Navy facilities.
Develop understanding of submarine systems identified in work documents.
