Job summary

West Texas Rehabilitation Center is seeking an O&P Technician to fabricate, repair, and maintain orthotic and prosthetic devices, supporting patient mobility and independence.

You will work under Orthotics and Prosthetics practitioners to translate designs into functional devices, ensure equipment is properly maintained, and uphold safety standards within a collaborative team setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous training or experience in orthotics and/or prosthetics is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.
• Ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and manage a full workload.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and sustain tasks over extended periods.

As an O&P Technician at West Texas Rehabilitation Center, you’ll play an important behind-the-scenes role in helping patients regain mobility, independence, and confidence.

Working under the direction of our Orthotics and Prosthetics practitioners, you’ll use your technical skills, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail to fabricate, repair, and maintain orthotic and prosthetic devices designed to meet individual patient needs.

What You'll Do

• Fabricate orthotic and prosthetic devices according to practitioner specifications and designs.
• Repair and maintain a variety of orthotic and prosthetic devices.
• Safely operate and maintain department equipment.
• Maintain an organized inventory of fabrication and repair supplies.
• Assist with ordering and receiving supplies.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Assist department staff as needed.
• Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by practitioners and department leadership.
