Job summary

Ottobock SE & Co. KGaA in Dallas, TX seeks a Prosthetic Technician to join our patient care clinic. You will work closely with our care team to fabricate and fit orthotic and prosthetic devices with precision, ensuring a perfect fit for each patient.

The role requires basic fabrication skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and HIPAA compliance. State-of-the-art facilities and a supportive team culture are offered in a dynamic, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Formal technician training from an NCOPE accredited program is preferred.
  • Background in orthotics/prosthetics fabrication is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned work for delivery per company standard times and patient needs.
  • Demonstrate competence in fabrication techniques delivering high productivity.
  • Adhere to safety regulations including OSHA and Medicare compliance.
  • Maintain clean, organized workspaces and common areas.
  • Identify process improvements to promote efficiency.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

We are currently seeking a Prothetic technician at our Dallas, TX patient care clinic. Because we control the fabrication process from start to finish, we’re able to tailor each prosthesis to the unique needs of every patient. Our state-of-the-art facilities are equipped with advanced technology and you’ll work closely with our care team to ensure precision, quality, and a perfect fit.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Complete assigned work for delivery per company standard times, policies andresponsive to the needs of the patient.
  • Demonstrate competence and expertise in fabrication techniques that result in a high level of productivity.
  • Promote a positive work environment through compliance with customer relation policiesand standards.
  • Participate in continuing education to be proficient in fabricating techniques and materialproperties.
  • Identify and create improvements to processes to promote efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain cleanliness and neat orderly workspaces and common areas used during work orbreaks.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations; compliance with Medicare and other governmentalregulations; compliance with bloodborne and Occupational Safety and HealthAdministration (OSHA) requirements.
  • Treat Protected Health Information (PHI) with the strictest confidentiality in accordancewith HIPAA standards and DJO policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated basic organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasksto completion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with hand and power tools including the care and maintenance ofequipment.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of orthotic/prosthetic design, fitting criteria, measurementtools and techniques including modification procedures, material science and planes ofmotion.
  • Proficient understanding of computer programs such as MS Office and databases.
  • Professionalism in conduct, appearance, and communication.
  • Skilled in communicating with patients and employees effectively both verbally and inwriting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and participate with a team approach.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and basic anatomy.
  • Background experience and proficiency in general fabrication procedures of orthoticprosthetic devices, which include working with thermal plastic, lamination, resin, metal,leather, plaster, and prosthetic/orthotic components. Some level of on-the-job training isanticipated.
  • Formal technician training certificate and/or degree from an NCOPE accreditedtechnician training program preferred.
  • Qualified through experience working as an apprentice O&P Technician under the supervision of an ABC Certified Orthotic/Prosthetic Practitioner, RegisteredOrthotic/Prosthetic Assistant, and/or Registered Orthotic/Prosthetic Technician for a period of two years preferred.
