Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an O&M Network Engineer in Springfield, VA, to support mission-critical network environments and operations. You will design, configure, and troubleshoot network systems, manage patches, and document technical requirements for customer deployments.

The role requires 5-8 years in network engineering, cloud networking experience (ExpressRoute, Azure VNets), and strong knowledge of Layer 1–3, security concepts, and CLI. On-site position with travel within 50 miles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience and 5-8 years of experience in network engineering.
• Experience configuring network devices, navigating CLI environments, deploying patches, and performing configuration changes.
• Experience with WAN and routing technologies, including BGP, MPLS, and SD-WAN.
• Expertise with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols and designing networks for efficiency and resiliency.
• Experience with cloud networking technologies, including ExpressRoute, Azure Virtual Networks, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with cloud orchestration and network device management.
• Understanding of Layer 1 technologies, including cable plant and circuits.
• Knowledge of network security concepts and technologies, including STIGs, KGs, traffic management, and secure network transport.
• 0% outside the local area (all travel within 50 miles from Site)

Responsibilities may include supporting network engineering and deployment activities, configuring and troubleshooting network devices, performing root cause analysis, developing technical documentation, gathering customer requirements, and supporting network operations and sustainment efforts. This is a direct placement role located in Springfield, Virginia. The O&M Network Engineer is expected to have experience in network engineering, network device configuration, routing and transport technologies, cloud networking, network security, and infrastructure deployment. Compensation for the O&M Network Engineer:

• Salary range: $130,000 - $180,000 *depending on experience*
