Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is hiring for a Person County ICE Tech. The role is stationed at Roxboro’s Facility (Semora, NC) with occasional support at Mayo Station. Responsibilities include startup/shutdown, operation, maintenance, and safety compliance across plant equipment.

Applicants should have an HS Diploma or GED, strong communication, basic computer skills, and ICE-related experience. Travel 5-15% and mandatory safety training are required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma / GED or higher required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills with Windows, email and work management software.
• Mechanical, electrical or I&C experience.
• Ability to wear safety equipment and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to pass respiratory physical and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Start-up, shutdown, normal operations, monitoring, servicing and maintenance of equipment at the coal generating facility.
• Follow emergency procedures during abnormal operation.
• Adhere to location safety procedures including red tagging and PPE.
• Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate plant equipment.
• Participate in specialty team training (Fire Brigade, Confined Space, Rescue, Hazmat & First Responder).
