Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Engineer for our solar power plants. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising preventive and breakdown maintenance, coordinating with OEMs, managing plant operations, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards. This role requires a strong understanding of solar power systems and the ability to analyze and improve plant performance.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Supervise and verify preventive maintenance schedules for solar plant equipment including solar modules and inverters.
- Conduct fault diagnosis and rectification of inverters, strings, and defective modules.
- Oversee and respond to breakdown maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with OEMs for spare parts, AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts), warranty claims, and service requests.
- Manage and oversee vendor contracts related to plant operations and services.
- Verify module cleaning activities are performed as per schedule.
- Monitor and verify Joint Meter Reading (JMR) processes.
- Ensure smooth handover and takeover of projects in line with defined scopes, protocols, and procedures.
- Maintain and update a list of plant issues and coordinate resolution with engineering, contracts, and accounts teams.
- Liaise with local communities, contractors, and suppliers to maintain smooth operations and relations.
- Manage spare parts inventory, manpower allocation, and budget planning.
- Conduct energy audits and implement actions to reduce power loss.
- Conduct case-specific analyses to identify and rectify performance shortfalls.
- Maintain data records and generate MIS reports for all operational plants.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) protocols.
- Drive continuous process improvements and promote adoption of industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Renewable Energy Engineering or related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in solar power plant operations and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with solar PV systems, inverters, and energy monitoring systems.
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards, EHS compliance, and energy auditing.
