Job summary

Global Partners LP is seeking a NYMEX Analyst to support the Supply and Distribution team in real-time market intelligence and hedging trades. The role reports to the Merc Desk Supervisor and involves executing paper trades, reconciling data, and ensuring compliance with risk policies.

The ideal candidate has a Finance/Accounting/Economics background, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced trading floor environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication and problem-solving ability.
  • Familiarity with data manipulation and large data sets.
  • Experience with trading or risk management is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Internal liaison for Supply and lead execution of commodity trades and hedges.
  • Identify new processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Daily reconciliation between internal systems and external brokers.
  • Troubleshoot reconciliation differences with traders and brokers.
  • Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports to risk and trading groups.
  • Execute commodity trades on behalf of the company.
  • Enter exchange trades, futures, options and daily in-house trades into RightAngle.
  • Review activity for accuracy.
  • Facilitate communication with traders on positions and hedging.
  • Understand risk policy and procedures, and communicate compliance issues.
  • Assist in gathering data for regulatory agencies and auditors.

Job description

The NYMEX Analyst will be a critical part of the Supply and Distribution team, reporting to the Merc Desk Supervisor. This role provides real-time market intelligence and executes paper trades (e.g. futures, swaps) to hedge physical positions.

Your Role, Your Impact
  • You will be the internal liaison for Supply and lead the execution of commodity trades and hedges working with various Global departments.
  • Responsible for identifying new processes, increase efficiencies and costs savings to add value to Supply.
  • Daily reconciliation between internal systems and with external brokers.
  • Troubleshoot differences that arise during reconciliation internally with traders and externally with brokers.
  • Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports to risk and trading groups and management.

  • Assist in the gathering of data to satisfy requests made by regulatory agencies and auditors.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Finance/Accounting/Economics
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to succeed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, deliver quickly and adapt to changing demands
  • Outstanding organization skills -- ability to effectively manage multiple work efforts simultaneously
  • Willingness and desire to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities
  • Excellent written, analytical, verbal communication skills and real-time problem- solving ability.
  • Strong computer knowledge: spreadsheets, graphs and charts, . proficiency in manipulating large data sets.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Able to effectively work in a trading floor environment, which is fast paced and, at times, distracting. Advanced communication and interpersonal skills with strong work ethic; results oriented, creative and works well in a team environment. Must possess high degree of professionalism, adaptability, integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality
  • Strong ability to quickly learn other systems and applications. Experience using ETRM systems (Right Angle, Endur, Allegro, Triple Point) preferred.
  • Flexibility in schedule and ability to commit sufficient time to complete the job requirements.

Pay Range$81,000.00 - $121,400.00

The pay range for this position is outlined above. The final amount offered at the start of employment is determined based on factors including, but not limited to, experience level, knowledge, skills, abilities and geographic location, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
