Job summary

Curbed, New York Magazine's real estate, architecture, design and urbanism site, is seeking a temporary Real Estate Editor for a two-month contract. You'll edit news stories and features about NYC real estate, generate assignments, and coordinate with freelancers to expand our coverage.

This in-office role is Tuesday through Thursday, with remote flexibility on other days. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years editing NYC real estate and a track record of ambitious, well-edited reporting, plus strong

Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of New York City real estate, neighborhoods and development.
  • 3–5 years of experience as an editor covering NYC real estate.
  • Track record of publishing smart, ambitious stories.
  • Experience managing staff writers and freelancers.
  • Rigorous line editing and big-picture thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Edit news stories and features about NYC real estate and development.
  • Generate assignments for staff and freelancers based on news and tips.
  • Oversee two staff writers and one weekly permalancer.
  • Help execute special packages and projects.
  • Coordinate with editors across Curbed and New York Magazine on visuals and social promotion.
