Job summary

Stealth Startup in New York City is seeking a hands-on Chief Technology Officer to lead our technology strategy, engineering organization, and product development. The ideal candidate will define the vision, drive architectural decisions, and scale a production-ready platform while building and mentoring a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience leading engineering teams or a technology organization.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, architecture, databases, APIs.
• Proficiency in one or more languages such as Python, Go, Java, C++, or Node.js.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with modern infrastructure, CI/CD, containers, monitoring and observability.
• Ability to work onsite in New York City.

Responsibilities

• Define and own technology vision, strategy, and long-term technical roadmap.
• Lead architecture, development, deployment, and scaling of the technology platform.
• Build and lead a high-performing engineering organization.
• Establish engineering standards, development processes, and technical best practices.
• Make critical decisions around architecture, infrastructure, security, scalability, and technology investments.
• Work closely with the CEO, founders, product, and business teams to translate objectives into technical strategy.
