Job summary

The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law is a nonpartisan law and policy institute focused on democracy and justice in the United States. This in-person internship is based in New York City and supports a busy staff with desktop and telephone help, software support, and equipment maintenance.

Applicants should be undergraduate students, with strong communication skills and familiarity with MS Office, basic hardware/software installation, and network concepts.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities are required.
• Beginner knowledge of hardware and software installation.
• Proficiency with MS Office and cloud-based Office 365 tools.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP settings and basic network troubleshooting.
• Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
• Familiar with smartphones, tablets, and Macintosh environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide desktop and telephone support to Brennan Center staff.
• Document all calls and problem resolutions accurately.
• Provide user-level software support for MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Office 365, and Sage fundraising database.
• Upgrade, repair and replace computers and printers as needed.
