Organization: Yemeni American Merchants Association (YAMA)
Location: Bronx with travel throughout the five boroughs
Salary: $40,000 starting salary
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Expected Hire Date: December 1, 2025

The Yemeni American Merchants Association (YAMA) is a community-based non-profit organization that serves Yemeni-American merchants and their families in New York City. YAMA offers a range of services to foster community growth, economic stability, and personal development through educational programming, case management, advocacy, and resource connection. YAMA’s immigrant services programs are specifically designed to address the challenges Yemeni immigrants face, helping them succeed in work, education, and civic life. Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated NYC HRA Enrollment Benefit Specialist to join our team. This role will focus on helping community members access and navigate benefit programs. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, compassionate professional who can travel throughout the five boroughs and conduct assessments, facilitate enrollment processes, and schedule follow-up appointments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Benefit Enrollment & Assessment: Conduct in-person assessments for clients to identify eligibility for HRA benefits and other relevant support services.
  • Application Assistance: Guide clients through the application process for NYC benefits, ensuring all required documentation is completed and submitted accurately and promptly.
  • Appointment Scheduling & Follow-Up: Schedule appointments for follow-up consultations and assist clients with any next steps related to their benefit applications.
  • Resource Connection: Work closely with other YAMA programs to connect clients with additional resources, such as ESL classes, immigration legal services, and case management.
  • Client Advocacy: Act as an advocate for clients, ensuring their needs are effectively communicated and addressed by relevant social service agencies.
  • Data Entry & Documentation: Maintain accurate client records in our database, track enrollment statuses, and document any follow-up actions.
  • Technology Proficiency: Utilize various digital tools, including the Google platform (Google Sheets, Google Docs), Microsoft Word and Excel, and Salesforce, to manage client information, track enrollment processes, and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Virtual Collaboration: Confidently use Zoom for client meetings, training sessions, and team collaboration, ensuring seamless interaction and engagement in a virtual setting.
