Job summary

Women In Need (WIN) is seeking a Housing Services Coordinator to support the permanent housing search for families in WIN shelters. You will coordinate housing services activities to meet WIN contractual requirements and assist families through subsidy programs.

You will build partnerships with real estate brokers and landlords, facilitate housing viewings, and collaborate with case managers to develop lasting housing strategies. Travel to housing sites as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Associate’s degree with 4+ years of directly related experience.
• Deep knowledge of the New York City housing market, including housing subsidies and supportive housing programs.
• Ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with brokers, landlords and housing stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Flexible and willing to travel to housing sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to understand housing subsidies and guide families through the application process.
• Cultivate relationships with rental brokers and landlords to provide WIN families with current housing resources.
• Liaise with brokers/landlords to ensure housing meets WIN requirements and act as expediter when needed.
• Arrange apartment viewings and interviews with landlords; assist with housing applications.
• Collaborate with Case Managers and clients to develop permanent housing strategies.
• Coordinate WIN-sponsored Housing Fairs and participate in networking events.
• Coordinate and facilitate housing workshops addressing client needs during the housing search.
• Host group meetings with new arrivals within 10 days to discuss subsidies and client responsibilities.
