Job summary

American Girl is seeking a seasonal Experience Associate for the New York City store. You will greet customers, assist promptly, demonstrate doll styling and care, and perform doll ear piercing after training.

You’ll help with inventory, and participate in events like Doll Hair, Manicure Day, and private parties while upselling salon services. Flexible schedule including days, nights and weekends; prior sales or retail experience preferred; training provided for piercing procedures.

Qualifications

• Willing to perform girl ear piercing services.
• Sales experience in specialty retail or service industry preferred.
• Hair styling experience for dolls preferred.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Flexible retail schedule including days, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Approach, acknowledge and assist customers promptly.
• Execute style for dolls according to company standards and demonstrate proper doll hair care and doll skin care techniques
• Perform ear piercing services for doll
• Training and certification provided for ear piercing with adherence to procedure checklist and aftercare
• Conduct inventory of salon supplies and stock salon area; communicate replenishment needs
• Participate in salon events including Doll Hair and Manicure Day, hair demos, and private birthday parties
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed
• Share product knowledge, answer questions, and upsell salon services and products
• Share information on store events, promotions, and activities with customers
• Collaborate with coworkers to create a positive work environment and assist in training new associates
