Job summary

Aaru, a NYC-based in-person team, seeks a Prediction Research Manager to lead a focused group of researchers and engineers. You will translate broad predictive goals into executable workstreams, drive rigorous experimentation, and ensure practical impact across product and policy decisions.

You will write code, review statistical assumptions, and hire exceptional researchers, building a cadence that supports rapid exploration and robust final evidence in a collaborative, high-ownership

• Ability to build and manage a focused research portfolio.
• Excellent communication and feedback skills.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of Prediction Researchers and research engineers.
• Set a focused portfolio of research questions across aggregate prediction, calibration, and drift.
• Turn poorly specified problems into falsifiable hypotheses and clear datasets.
• Develop predictive systems using structured data, ML models, language models, and tooling.
• Establish standards for calibration, prospective testing, and responsible evaluation.
• Recruit exceptional researchers and provide direct feedback and mentoring.
• Collaborate with data, infrastructure, and product teams to productionize validated methods.
