Advice Personnel in New York City is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager / Controller to lead day-to-day accounting and financial operations in an onsite, five-day-per-week environment.

The ideal candidate will own month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, AP, and expense management while partnering with an outsourced CFO to improve controls and visibility. A meticulous, organized, hands-on professional is essential.

Competenze

• 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with significant experience owning or managing a company's accounting function.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks is required.
• Experience with financial systems such as Ramp, Carta, Stripe, or similar platforms is highly preferred.
• Experience working alongside an outsourced CFO, external accounting firm, or other third-party finance providers is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of ownership over the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

Mansioni

• Own the company's month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of financial statements
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure financial reporting is accurate, complete, timely, and compliant with U.S. GAAP
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and support budget-versus-actual analysis for executive leadership and the Board
• Serve as the primary internal accounting partner to the company's outsourced CFO, supporting financial reporting, planning initiatives, and special projects
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, cash management, bank reconciliations, expense reporting, and other operational accounting workflows
• Oversee expense management processes through Ramp, ensuring adherence to company policies and improving visibility into company spending
• Maintain and administer the company's equity records within Carta, ensuring employee equity grants are accurately documented and tracked
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives by providing accurate underlying accounting data and operational insights
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and month-end processes while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and automation
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers to support audit, tax, and compliance requirements
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and clarity of financial information presented to company leadership and other stakeholders
• Continuously improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting capabilities as the organization continues to scale
