Job summary

General Motors is seeking an Engineering Designer to join our Engine Team at the Warren Tech Center, working hybrid with on-site presence at least three days per week. You will create high-quality NX models, support cross-functional engineering tasks, and help drive the design and integration of engine components and subsystems.

This role suits a detail-oriented, self-driven designer passionate about product excellence, virtual design, and collaborating within a world-class organization.

Qualifications

• 5 years of CAD/engineering design experience, automotive or mechanical systems preferred.
• Proficiency in Siemens NX and parametric modeling.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, manufacturability, and subsystem integration.

Responsibilities

• Support designers with design tasks, component requirements, and virtual integration activities.
• Develop, refine, and finalize Criteria and Sections for components or systems.
• Ensure compliance with Design Standards and Global infoBOOK requirements.
• Apply DFA and integration principles to part and subsystem designs.
• Lead or participate in design and virtual reviews.
• Document material specifications and mass data in the math file.
• Perform NX analysis with support from the DLT or Senior Designer.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technical teams to meet design requirements.
• Integrate designs into the overall system architecture.
• Stay informed on product developments and best practices.
