Nucor Corporation is offering an Environmental Intern position in Vernon, CA. You will support the Environmental Coordinator in maintaining and improving the Warehouse Systems Environmental Program, gaining hands-on experience with environmental regulations and industrial best practices.

You will assist with inspections, audits, training, recordkeeping, and permit documentation, monitor compliance with air, water, and waste rules, and help drive sustainability projects while upholding safety

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a college/university program in Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
• Must be onsite in Vernon, CA for the internship duration.
• Must be able to successfully meet the company’s pre-employment drug screening requirements.

Responsibilities

Basic Job Functions:

The Environmental Intern will support the Environmental Coordinator in maintaining and improving the Nucor Warehouse Systems Environmental Program. This role will assist with environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and plant-wide environmental projects while gaining hands-on experience with environmental regulations and industrial best practices.

Responsibilities will include assisting with environmental inspections, audits, training, recordkeeping, and permit documentation; helping monitor compliance with air, water, and waste regulations; supporting sustainability initiatives and environmental improvement projects; organizing environmental data and maintaining accurate records; and participating in community outreach and environmental awareness activities.

The intern will work closely with the Environmental Coordinator and Nucor team members to support continuous improvement, promote environmentally responsible practices, and help ensure compliance with applicable environmental requirements.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
