Job summary

National Grid is hiring an Engineering Manager for our Electrical Planning and Design department in the General NYS Service Area. The role leads a team focused on Non-Wires Alternatives (NWA), shaping the future of New York’s energy grid.

You will drive project management, regulatory support, and cost-benefit analysis, partnering with engineers, analysts, and vendors to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions that improve reliability and enable the energy transition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (ABET-accredited).
• 8+ years in utility engineering with non-wire alternatives (NWA) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electric distribution and transmission in NY.
• Experience drafting RFPs and cost/benefit analyses.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage technical scopes for NWA projects.
• Lead end-to-end project management for multiple NWA initiatives.
• Support regulatory activities, including filings and testimonies.
• Monitor project performance with established metrics and tools.
• Identify and advance NWA opportunities with stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement and learnings across projects.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety and customer service excellence.
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet performance targets.
