Job summary

Brembo North America is seeking an NVH Engineer to blend CAE modeling with physical testing for automotive brake systems. You will perform NVH analyses, eigenvalue studies, and sensitivity assessments to reduce squeal and improve performance, working across virtual and test environments.

You will lead collaboration with customers and an application engineer, guiding design optimizations while balancing travel and project delivery. A strong customer-service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent including experience required.
• 1 - 3 years experience preferred
• In-depth knowledge of brake NVH and numerical methods a plus
• Proficiency in CAE Software including Hypermesh and ABAQUS CAE
• Good knowledge of CAD systems, preferred CatiaV5
• Proficiency in managing and debugging ABAQUS Non Linear analysis
• Knowledge of experimental correlation
• Knowledge of Pro-Link software
• Testing Oriented and preferred if already with some testing experience

Responsibilities

• Modelling, analyzing, and supporting the product development of automotive brake systems to meet NVH performance targets
• Perform NVH analysis for automotive brake systems
• Perform complex eigenvalue analysis (CEA) of brake systems to reduce brake squeal propensity
• Perform sensitivity analysis approach of real and complex eigenvalue to determine critical design parameters for brake squeal
• Responsible for NVH corner and chassis development for all customers
• Responsible for NVH testing activities at dynamometer level, internal and outsourced
• Correlate CAE analysis and testing to identify potential design optimizations
• Correlate CAE analysis and testing to recommend solutions to structural and NVH development issues
• This person leads a project team including the application engineer and customer on the best path to an NVH solution. Accuracy and good customer service is a must. Travel may be required but will not be a significant percentage of time on an annual basis.

Job description

• The NVH engineer at Brembo is a unique position in that the engineer will work an equal amount in the virtual world of CAE Modeling and the tangible/empirical reality of physical testing
• Modelling, analyzing, and supporting the product development of automotive brake systems to meet NVH performance targets;
• Perform NVH analysis for automotive brake systems;
• Perform complex eigenvalue analysis (CEA) of brake systems to reduce brake squeal propensity;
• Perform sensitivity analysis approach of real and complex eigenvalue to determine critical design parameters for brake squeal;
• Responsible for NVH corner and chassis development for all customers;
• Responsible for NVH testing activities at dynamometer level, internal and outsourced;
• Perform advanced measurements such as FRF, Modal Analysis, pressure distribution analysis, ultrasound friction measurements, 3D ODS analysis;
• Correlate CAE analysis and testing to identify potential design optimizations;
• Correlate CAE analysis and testing to recommend solutions to structural and NVH development issues
• This person leads a project team including the application engineer and customer on the best path to an NVH solution. Accuracy and good customer service is a must. The requirements of the business may cause frequent interruptions. Travel may be required but will not be a significant percentage of time on an annual basis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent including experience required.
• 1 -3 years experience preferred;
• In-depth knowledge of brake NVH and numerical methods a plus;
• Proficiency in CAE Software including Hypermesh and ABAQUS CAE;
• Good knowledge of CAD systems, preferred CatiaV5;
• Proficiency in managing and debugging ABAQUS Non Linear analysis;
• Knowledge of experimental correlation;
• Knowledge of Pro-Link software;
• Testing Oriented and preferred if already with some testing experience;
• Flexible mind set and work approach to work in parallel at Virtual and Testing Level.
