Job summary

Nuuly, part of URBN, seeks a Senior AI Engineer to help evolve our AI-powered development harness used by Product, UX, and Engineering teams. This hands-on role focuses on tooling and infrastructure behind applied AI, not just AI coding assistants.

You will design agent instructions, build agent-based automation, and contribute to the artifact lifecycle across AI-enabled development stages. Strong Python, CI/CD, and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on AI engineering experience designing production-grade AI systems.
• Experience designing agent instructions, prompts, and AI workflows.
• Designing artifact-life-cycle systems with AI embedded in development.
• Building AI agents in production, including architectures and orchestration.
• Strong focus on testing, evaluation, and observability for AI workflows.
• Experience drafting structured data contracts like JSON Schema or YAML.
• Ability to translate between domain experts and engineers.
• Enthusiasm for emerging AI capabilities and tooling.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with agent platforms like Claude, Google ADK, LangChain, CrewAI.

Responsibilities

Requirements

Must have

• We require 5+ years of hands-on experience building production software or internal platforms such as APIs, workflow engines, developer tooling, or automation systems.
• We need practical experience designing agent instructions, prompt systems, or LLM-driven workflows.
• We look for experience with spec-driven or artifact-lifecycle systems where AI is embedded in the development process.
• We want experience building and shipping AI agents in production, including agent architectures and orchestration patterns.
• We value a strong focus on quality discipline, including testing, rubrics, evaluation datasets, LLM-as-judge methods, and observability for AI workflows.
• We require experience designing structured data contracts such as JSON Schema, YAML, or similar formats.
• We need comfort collaborating with Product, UX, and engineering partners and translating between domain experts and technical constraints.
• We want enthusiasm for exploring emerging AI capabilities, platforms, tooling, and techniques.
• We require excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences.
• We prefer familiarity with multiple agentic coding and cloud agent platforms such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Gemini.
• We require strong scripting and automation skills in Python.
• We look for hands‑on experience with agent development kits and platforms such as Claude Agent SDK, Google ADK, LangChain/LangGraph, or CrewAI.
• We require solid Git knowledge, including branching, pull request workflows, and coordinating cross-repo changes.
• We look for experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar automation tools.
• We want the ability to build and operate agentic or automation integrations with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Monday.
• We value familiarity with tool-integration protocols for connecting agents to external systems such as MCP or CLI-based tooling.
