Overview

Jordan Health is now seeking a WIC Nutritionist who, under the guidance of the WIC Supervising Nutritionist/WIC Program Manager, is primarily responsible for providing staffing assistance in the WIC clinic to cover vacations while completing WIC eligibility and appointments for WIC participants.

Responsibilities

• Enroll and continue services for eligible families with WIC services at each appointment
• Improve health outcomes for WIC eligible families
• Help maintain and increase caseload of WIC eligible families
• Increase breastfeeding rates as indicated by Breastfeeding Coordinator and work in conjunction with BF Coordinator to obtain these
• Maintain and enhance professional education/knowledge. Stay up to date on current Nutrition and Breastfeeding topics by obtaining 12 continuing education credits each year
• Maintain efficient clinic flow daily and assist other staff in needed duties

Education and Experience

• Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework in nutrition
• Experience in patient counseling within a community health setting is required
• Additionally, a minimum of one year of experience in health and/or nutrition education is preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• American Dietetic Association status as a Registered Dietitian and Certified Lactation Counselor preferred
• BLS through the American Heart Association
• NYS Infection Control Certificate
