The Job in a Nutshell: This role requires an outgoing personality and passion for sharing nutrition knowledge and inspiring people to achieve their health goals. You will work in a fast-paced retail setting conducting classes, private coaching, community outreach, and retail operations such as customer service and stocking shelves. As the store’s nutrition professional, you will act as an educational resource providing science-based nutrition education to the store Crew, customers, and the community. This position contributes directly to Natural Grocers' mission of improving community health and creating a sustainable, just, regenerative food system.

Compensation: USD $23.00/Hr.

Responsibilities

1. Serve as the nutrition education resource for customers, Crew, and community.
2. Assist customers on the floor, providing product education and support.
3. Perform retail operations including stocking, merchandising, and maintaining literature and book departments.
4. Provide nutrition education through classes, demonstrations, and outreach programs.
5. Train and motivate Crew members about nutrition services and store events.
6. Build community relationships and seek outreach opportunities.
7. Maintain continued education requirements and stay updated with research.
8. Assist with store events and manage educational materials and supplies.

Qualifications

• Degree or certification in nutrition or related field (e.g., dietetics, biology, biochemistry, naturopathy).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent public speaking and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage customers and promote store services.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Team-oriented and receptive to feedback.
• Motivated for ongoing learning and community engagement.
• Comfortable with retail operations and working in a dynamic environment.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull various weights; walk, stand, and reach frequently; work with tools and equipment; and tolerate environmental conditions such as noise, dust, and temperature variations.
