Overview

This role requires an outgoing personality and passion for sharing nutrition knowledge and inspiring people to achieve their health goals. Responsibilities include conducting classes, private coaching sessions, community outreach, and retail operations such as customer service, stocking, and cleaning. As the store’s nutrition professional, you will provide science-based nutrition education to staff, customers, and the community, supporting Natural Grocers' mission to improve community health and promote a sustainable food system.

Responsibilities

1. Serve as the nutrition education resource for customers, staff, and community.
2. Assist customers in-store with product knowledge and education.
3. Perform retail operations, maintain literature files, stock shelves, and ensure cleanliness.
4. Provide nutrition education through classes, demonstrations, and outreach programs.
5. Train staff on nutrition services and promote store events and promotions.
6. Build community relationships and seek outreach opportunities.
7. Maintain continuing education requirements and stay updated with research.
8. Assist in organizing store events and managing educational materials.

Qualifications

• Degree or certification in nutrition or related field (e.g., dietetics, biology, biochemistry, naturopathy).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent public speaking and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage customers and promote store offerings.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Self-motivated with a passion for nutrition education.
• Comfortable performing retail tasks and working in a retail environment.

Maintaining Nutrition Knowledge

Ensure ongoing education and certification requirements are met, including continuing education hours as needed.
