A leading healthcare provider in Baton Rouge is seeking a dedicated food service worker to manage cleaning and sanitation tasks in food production and service areas. The role involves maintaining a hygienic environment while assisting in the efficient flow of operations. Candidates should preferably have a high school diploma or GED and some experience in food service. Adherence to safety and HIPAA regulations is essential.
JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION: Performs food service tasks under general supervision in a food production area and/or food service area; washes and cleans assigned utensils, area and equipment; receives, stores and disburses foodstuffs, and supplies from assigned storeroom. Performs duties appropriatelyfor the age population served, as defined in the department’s scope of service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited to:
1. Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas following proper sanitary procedures.
2. Assists in expediting the flow of work in the kitchen, storeroom and/or food service areas as assigned.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
3. Maintains working area according to established infection control/safety policies.

4. Performs all other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSPrevious food service experience preferred.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
HIPAA REQUIREMENTS:
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: paper medical record with limit to job function.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: incident reporting, handling wastes, sharps and linens, PPE, exposure control plans, hand washing, environmental rounds to ensure safety, receives orders for patients, and clinical alarms for all age groups.
