Job summary

MarinHealth is seeking a Nutrition Technician to act as the liaison between patients, staff, visitors and the Nutrition Services Department, organizing patient information into food service production. The role requires knowledge of therapeutic diets and strong communication with an emphasis on patient education.

Qualified candidates will have a two-year nutrition-related degree (or equivalent) and be prepared to obtain ServeSafe within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in nutrition preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of modified and therapeutic diets.
• ServeSafe certification within 90 days of hire; IAMTAC within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient education regarding individual therapeutic diet orders.
• Assists patients with menu selections with excellent customer service.
• Prepares production information for cooks, salad and cold food prep staff for patient meal service.
