Job summary

Qualifications

  • Requires 2 years of experience as a Nutrition Technician or similar role.
  • Registered as a Nutrition and Dietetic Technician within 6 months.
  • Certification as required by the State of Wisconsin within 3 months.

Job description

Work Schedule

100% FTE, Days. Hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, with a weekend rotation approximately once a month. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. You will work at the University Hospital and East Madison Hospital.

Nutrition Technician responsibilities
  • Help assess, develop, and implement nutrition intervention(s) for individual or group nutrition education, and monitor the patient’s progress.
  • Participate in compliance and quality performance improvement efforts to ensure that nutrition care is safe and effective.

Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Nutrition or related field Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or related field Preferred
Work Experience
  • 2 years of experience as a Nutrition Technician, Diet Clerk, or other nutrition related work Required
Licenses & Certifications
  • Registered as a Nutrition and Dietetic Technician, Registered (NDTR) as delineated by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. within 6 months Required
    OR in lieu of the above:
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist as delineated by the Commission on Dietetic Registration Upon Hire or obtained within 6 months within 6 months Required and
  • Certification/Licensure as required by the State of Wisconsin within 3 months of the start date within 3 months Required
