Job summary

YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South in Clarksville, TN, seeks a part-time Nutrition Services - Production Associate to support meal preparation and delivery for the Food Program.

Under the supervision of the Food Executive Director, you will perform sanitation, handle packaging machinery, store and transport food, and help ensure a safe, high‑quality supply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, speak and understand English.
• Some knowledge of food service and kitchen procedures is preferred.
• Ages 18 and older.

Nutrition Services - Production Associate

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the general supervision of the Food Executive Director the Production Associate team members assist in preparation and delivery of the meals for our Food Program.

Essential Functions

• Take and record the temperature of food and food storage areas
• Operate packaging machinery
• Pack and place food in refrigerators for storage or in trucks for transport.

Work Schedule

The work schedules may vary per the workload for that day but the typical hours are Monday - Friday starting at either 7:30 am or 9:00 am and ending between 1 pm and 4 pm.

• Ability to perform activities which require sustained concentration and attention.
• Ability to perform tasks that are repetitive
• Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and give consistent and accurate product
