Job summary

The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is seeking a Nutrition Services - Production Associate in Clarksville, TN for part-time hours. Under the supervision of the Food Executive Director, you will assist in the preparation and delivery of meals for the Food Program.

Typical work hours are Monday–Friday, starting at 7:30 am or 9:00 am and ending between 1 pm and 4 pm. Responsibilities include cleaning, sanitizing, packaging, temperature checks, and stocking food for storage and transport.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, speak and understand English
• Some knowledge of food service and kitchen procedures preferred
• Ages 18 and older

NUTRITION SERVICES - PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the general supervision of the Food Executive Director the Production Associate team members assist in preparation and delivery of the meals for our Food Program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes
• Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
• Take and record the temperature of food and food storage areas
• Operate packaging machinery
• Pack and place food in refrigerators for storage or in trucks for transport.
• All other duties as assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE:

The work schedules may vary per the workload for that day but the typical hours are Monday - Friday starting at either

7:30 am or 9:00 am and ending between 1 pm and 4 pm.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to perform activities which require sustained concentration and attention.
• Ability to perform tasks that are repetitive
• Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
