Responsibilities
The Nutrition Services Manager oversees the food service program at a single site, ensuring high food quality standards, inventory management, food safety, and customer service. Responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting the food service team to meet quality and safety standards.
- Maintaining accurate records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment using HCSG software.
- Conducting staff training, quality control, and in-service sessions; performing roles of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher as needed.
- Communicating directives effectively to staff from client managers, building occupants, and administrators.
- Ensuring safety protocols, proper use of cleaning solutions, and reporting equipment needs or malfunctions.
- Following infection control, universal precautions, and handwashing procedures.
- Maintaining attendance, punctuality, and task completion.
- Representing HCSG positively through courteous interactions with staff, clients, residents, and guests.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associates degree or higher in food service management or hospitality; coursework in food service or restaurant management preferred.
- Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and personnel supervision preferred.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification preferred (or as required by law).
- Must obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) certification within 14 days of employment.
- Must obtain Food Service Manager (FSM) and Long-Term Care Food Service (LTC-FSM) certifications within 60 days.
- Strong communication skills.
- Positive attitude and effective communication with staff and management.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
- Ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks and work around food and cleaning products.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
- Residency within the service area.
