Nutrition Services Lead and Nutrition Services Senior

Blodgett Hospital- 1840 Wealthy St SE - Grand Rapids and Butterworth Hospital- 100 Michigan St NE - Grand Rapids

Schedule: Full and Part time

Starting at $17.80 and $16.94 per hour.

Job Summary

Join our Nutrition Services team at Corewell Health and make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families. As a Nutrition Services leader, you will be expected to maintain a clean, organized, and professional environment. You will also have the opportunity to not only advance professionally, but personally. You will be mentoring team members and helping them stay engaged and succeed in a fast paced, educationally complex and culturally diverse atmosphere. You will be responsible for documenting team member-leader interactions, working side by side with department leadership, and collaborating with multiple Corewell Health locations.

Essential Functions
  • Resolving diet related matters for patients, patient families and nursing.
  • Obtaining ServSafe manager certification within 90 days of hire
    • Ensure correct sanitation, proper food storage, dating, labeling and prepping
  • Familiarity with state and local health code regulations
  • Cross training in all areas: Call Center, Trayline, Tray Delivery, Dish Room and Nourishments
    • Responsible for training new team members in all 4 areas
  • Managing daily and weekly staffing shortages
  • Upholding the most current departmental policies and procedures
  • Scheduling and payroll assistance
  • Proficient with multiple technology platforms such as Epic and API
  • Overseeing 35 or more team members on a single shift
    • Overseeing 4 separate positions/areas within the department
  • Effectively communicating with team member and other leaders
  • Creating and maintaining a professional, positive, well-organized environment
Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of relevant experience in food service, preferably in healthcare setting or related field
  • CRT-ServSafe Manager- NRA within 90 days of hire
  • CRT-ServSafe Allergen- NRA within 90 days of hire

Preferred

  • Associates degree in Hospitality or Nutrition
  • 1 year of relevant experience in leadership
