Job summary

Westside Community Schools is seeking a Part-Time Kitchen Aide/Cashier for multiple locations in Omaha, NE. The role supports Nutrition Services with cashiering, basic food prep, and kitchen duties. Must be able to lift, stand, and work with staff and students. Immediate starting date with 4+ hours per week.

This position emphasizes accurate cash handling, teamwork, and compliance with program requirements. Background checks are required; Local 226 contract applies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate well with others.
• Must be able to take direction from Kitchen Manager.
• Knowledge and ability of cleaning kitchen and preparation of food.
• Cashiers: prior cash register experience.
• Able to count money correctly.
• Able to determine the combination of food on a tray to make it a reimbursable meal.

Physical Requirements (ADA Compliance Regulations)

• Be able to lift boxes or containers weighing 40+ lbs.
• Be able to stand on feet to perform job responsibilities
