Job summary

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks a Nutrition Lead for the SBCH Cafeteria department to oversee patient and guest meal service across room service, cafeteria, deli, catering and coffee cart. The role supports development and oversight of staff in the Nutrition Department including Room Service, Call Center, and retail outlets.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or health-related field, Servsafe Manager certification within 6 months, and basic proficiency with MS

Qualifications

• Education: Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or health related field.
• Certifications: Minimum Servsafe Manager Certificate within 6 months of hire.
• Technical: Basic MS Word, Excel, Outlook; nutrition software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead for SBCH Cafeteria department, providing service excellence in meals across Room Service, Cafeteria, Deli, Catering and Coffee Cart.
• Support development and oversight of Nutrition Department staff including Room Service, Call Center and retail outlets.

Support in the continued development and oversight of staff in the Nutrition Department including but not limited to Room Service, Call Center, and retail outlets.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

Education:

• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or any Health Related Field.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

• Minimum: Servsafe Manager Certificate within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• Preferred: Diet Technician Registered (DTR) or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) Certification.

Technical Requirements:

• Minimum: Basic skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Preferred:Experience with Nutrition related software (i.e. Computrition).

Years of Related Work Experience:

• Minimum: One (1) year Healthcare food service experience; or two (2) years food service Supervisory experience.
• Preferred: Five (5) or more years Healthcare food service experience.

*Pay for non-physician positions is determined based on related years of experience and internal equity. Eligible employees may also receive additional forms of compensation, including shift differentials, on-call pay, incentive pay, and bonus opportunities, where applicable. Manager and above positions may participate in Cottage Health’s annual management incentive program. Physician compensation is determined based upon specialty and may include bonus potential.
