Job summary

Muhlenberg Job Corps Center is hiring for a full-time kitchen position. You will assist in the preparation and service of meals, ensuring sanitary kitchen and dining areas and adherence to dietary guidelines for a diverse student population.

The role includes collaboration with the food service manager to plan meals, maintain safety standards, and support work-based learning activities. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with certifications encouraged and 90-day ServSafe target.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience preferred.
• NRA Food Service Sanitation or ServeSafe Certification preferred; must obtain ServeSafe within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares well-balanced, nutritious meals per a 28-day cycle cafeteria menu.
• Collaborates with the food service manager to prepare three meals daily (two on holidays/weekends).
• Ensures meals meet dietary needs and guidelines for a diverse student population.
• Maintains sanitation and safety of kitchen and dining areas; assists with ordering, receiving, storing, and inventorying food items.
