Job summary

Priority Management Group, LLC is seeking a dependable Cook for our Ridgecrest Retirement and Healthcare Community in Waco, TX. The role involves preparing meals per menus, ensuring safe handling, and delivering nutritious food to residents in compliance with regulations.

You will also support ordering, storage, and equipment maintenance to maintain quality. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior large-scale cooking or long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Two years as cook in a large-scale cooking operation, preferred.
• One year’s work experience in long term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes; refers to supervisor or dietitian for menu changes.
• Reviews menus, census information, production guides and pre-prep sheets to determine quantities.
• Prepares food according to safe handling guidelines per policy and state/federal codes.
• Assists with food ordering, storage and preparation as designated by the supervisor; serves meals on time.
• Maintains standards for food preparation and quality; uses nutrition substitutes when required; follows recipes.
• Operates kitchen equipment and tools; bakes, roasts, broils, and steams food items for consumption.
• Completes pre-preparation and portioning; ensures menu compliance and nutrition accuracy.
• Tests palatability and serves attractively with gravies/sauces; monitors temperatures before service.
