The Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center seeks a Nutrition Counselor to work under the Lead Dietitian in a clinical WIC setting, performing assessments, counseling, referrals, breastfeeding support and nutrition education.
You will document care plans in the I-WIC system, develop education activities for clients and the community, and coordinate with Better Birth Outcomes and other services.
Under direct supervision of the Lead Dietitian/Senior Dietitian, the Nutrition Counselor performs duties in a clinical setting related to the certification of clients for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infant and Children (WIC) including assessment, counseling, referral, breastfeeding promotion/support and nutrition education. Work involves direct client contact and is performed in accordance with state and local agency WIC policies and procedures.
