Job summary

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston is seeking a Nutrition Assistant to support high-quality food service for patients and staff. You will prepare and deliver meal trays, assist with food preparation, and maintain a safe, clean dining environment aligned with dietary requirements.

Strong attention to detail, food safety knowledge, and excellent customer service are essential. You may perform cashiering or retail service, assist with tray delivery, and help with general kitchen tasks

Qualifications

• 1 year of food service or customer service experience.
• Food Handler Permit within 30 days or Servsafe Certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Follow healthcare foodservice standards, monitor temperatures, avoid cross-contamination and ensure proper labeling and storage.
• Prepare and serve food per menu and dietary requirements; respond to allergy questions.
• Ensure high-quality patient and customer experience with correct meal portions and presentation.
• May perform cashiering, serving in retail, delivering patient trays, cold prep, and general cleaning tasks.
