Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Nutrition Assistant to support high-quality food service for patients and staff at Mercy General Hospital's Mercy McMahon Terrace in East Sacramento.

You will prepare and deliver meal trays, assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, ensure food safety, and interact with patients about dietary needs, while upholding regulations and delivering a positive dining experience.

Qualifications

• Meticulous attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP practices.
• Ability to interact empathetically with patients regarding dietary needs.

Responsibilities

• Follows healthcare foodservice standards and guidelines, monitors food temperatures during cooking and storage.
• Prepares and serves food according to menu and dietary requirements; responds to allergy questions.
• Maintains cleanliness and proper labeling of food, and stores equipment per regulations.
• Assembles, delivers, and retrieves patient trays; supports catering and inventory tasks.
• May perform general kitchen duties and assist in retail or cashiering as needed.
