Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Colorado Springs is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide essential direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, adhering to policies and procedures to support patient-centered care and safety.

Daily tasks include assisting with hygiene, mobility, vital signs, feeding, and documentation; responding promptly to patient needs; and collaborating with the health care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. required.
• Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program.
• State registered CNA license.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality patient care including comfort, hygiene, skin care, safety, transport, and nutritional and elimination needs.
• Promptly answers call lights and reports patient status changes to RN promptly and accurately.
• Documents vital signs, input/output, nutrition, hygiene, weights, and care performed; maintains patient charts.
• Assists with delegated patient care tasks supervised by the nurse.
• Provides person-centered care with collaboration among team members.
• Communicates concerns regarding hazards or errors to the health care team.

• Provides quality patient care, including comfort and hygiene measures, preventative skin care, safety measures, transport, and nutritional and elimination needs.
• Promptly answers call lights and responds to patient needs. Reports patient status changes and needs to Registered Nurse accurately and in a timely manner.
• Accurately documents vital signs, input/output, nutritional intake, personal hygiene, weights, and other patient care performed and reports findings promptly to Registered Nurse; maintains thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
• Assists with safe and appropriate delegated patient care tasks which are directly supervised by the nurse.
• Provides person-centered care with sensitivity and respect for the human experience in a collaborative fashion with other team members.
• Communicates concerns regarding hazards or errors related to patients to the health care team.

Job Requirements
Required

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program
• State registered CNA license

Preferred

• Six (6) months previous CNA or healthcare experience.
