The University of Rochester's Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY is seeking a part-time Nutrition Assistant to assemble, deliver, and collect patient meals while maintaining sanitation and proper temperatures. You will support the Diet Technician and Nutrition Services staff, manage tray assembly, and assist with menu selections and nourishment delivery.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, English proficiency, and experience in a service environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with ability to understand, read, write and speak English and with experience in a service environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsabilités

• Assembles and delivers patient trays for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner meals in a timely manner to ensure temperature retention.
• Passes nourishments and fills water pitchers; passes tube feedings and infant formulas as needed.
• Passes patient menus and assists with menu selection on the telephone or at bedside.
• Collects and submits completed patient menu selections; communicates preferences to Diet Technician.
• Collects soiled meal trays and moves carts to the elevator area.
• Records patients' in's and out's, including food and liquid intake.
• Maintains daily inventory and fills Blue Orders; stocks supplies on units.
• Provides late trays and substitutes; adjusts trays per diet orders and admissions.
• Performs cleaning duties in galley areas and units; ensures food is at proper temperature with thermometer checks.
• Assembles trays on the trayline and assists with limited food preparation as needed.

Pass all tube feedings and infant formulas.3. Passes all patient specific menus. Assists with patient menu selection on the telephone or at bedside.4. Collects and submits all completed patient menu selections. Communicates patient preferences and requests for nourishment's to the Diet Technician as necessary.5. Collects all soiled meal trays from Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner meals. Also, moves soiled carts to elevator area.6. Records all patients in¿s and Out's. This includes amount of food eaten and liquid consumed by all patients being monitored.7. Maintains appropriate levels of floor stock by completing a daily inventory and filling the \"Blue Orders\" as necessary. Stocks the blue orders supplies on assigned units.8. Responsible for supplying all necessary late trays and substitute selections for patients. Consults with the Dietetic Technician or Nutrition Services Supervisor and use judgment in adjusting trays for changes in patients' diet orders and/or new admission.9. Performs all assigned cleaning duties such as unit microwave, freezer, refrigerator, galley work surfaces.10. When microwaving trays, checks to see food is brought to proper temperature by using a thermometer to test.11. Assembles trays on the trayline for meal service to patients.
