Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia is seeking a Customer Service/ Cashier role within Nutrition and Food Services. The position focuses on delivering great customer service while accurately and expeditiously completing sales on a computer register, plus food and supply prep, service, restocking and cleanup.

The role may also involve working in other areas of the Nutrition and Food Services Department to ensure timely patient meals and safety procedures are followed in a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

• 1 year of retail with customer interaction is preferred.
• Cashier experience is preferred.
• Must have English proficiency and basic math ability.

Job Summary

The primary function of this position involves delivering great customer service while also accurately and expeditiously completing sales transactions on a computer register. Other duties include food and supply preparation, service, restocking and clean-up. This position may also be required to work in other areas of the Nutrition and Food Services Department to ensure the successful completion of patient meal service.

Core Responsibilities And Essential Functions

• Ensures Sales Transaction and Cash Handling Duties are Performed Efficiently and with Attention to Detail
• Adheres to all WellStar and department cash handling policies, mandatory training, etc.
• Proactively demonstrates awareness of various customer needs.
• Accurately identifies all items included in a transaction.
• Manages cash transactions and other various payment methods.
• Efficiently operates cash registers in a fast paced environment.
• Completes detailed daily register procedures and reporting in an accurate manner.
• Ensures the Safety of Customers and Team Members (according to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and County Health Department Guidelines)
• Washes hands frequently and appropriately wears gloves.
• Follows infection prevention practices, including personal hygiene expectations (i.e., fingernail length and finish) and reports potential risks.
• Maintains all the work areas in a clean and organized manner; free of spills and fall hazards.
• Monitors and records food and/or equipment temperatures; immediately correcting/escalating out of range occurrences.
• Stores food and/or supplies using proper labeling, dating and rotation methods.
• Operates equipment according to all safety guidelines and escalates any unsafe conditions (i.e., frayed electrical cords).
• Engages in Efforts to Create a World Class Work Environment
• Follows work areas uniform specifications, i.e., clothing and shoes are neat and clean.
• Collaborates with team members and Leadership to meet the goals and objectives of the Department and Hospital.

• Ensures Positive Service Outcomes
• Follows department work schedule (including weekends and holidays) and arrives at the work station prior to task start time.
• Sets up, maintains and breaks down workstation according to area requirements.

• Completes area checklists and forms.
• Operates and cares for equipment according to manufacturers and area specific guidelines.
• Remains flexible to support other team members across the department to achieve desired service outcomes.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Education

• High School Diploma General-Preferred
