Job summary

Cypress Healthcare and Rehabilitation seeks a dedicated cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents, ensuring timely service in line with Federal, State and corporate guidelines. Duties include maintaining safety and sanitation and presenting a professional image to residents and staff.

In the absence of the Director of Nutritional Services, the cook may supervise staff, attend meetings, and participate in in-services as required, upholding resident rights and company standards throughout

Qualifications

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Basic understanding of cleanliness, organization and safety.
• Prior food service and/or long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• The cook prepares, in a timely manner, nutritious and attractive meals and supplements for all residents according to Federal, State and Corporate requirements. Performs duties in a safe and sanitary manner.
• The cook supervises staff in the absence of the Director of Nutritional Services. Attends meetings and in-services as required.
• Presents professional image to consumers through dress, behavior and speech. Adheres to Company standards for resolving consumer concerns. Ensures all patient/resident rights are protected.
