Job summary

Ridgeview is seeking a casual, non-benefit eligible team member to assist in food preparation and serving within the hospital's dining areas. The role includes patient and guest service, tray assembly, and cashier duties with basic discounts.

Candidates must be at least 14 years old and have prior cashier experience, with emphasis on accurate currency handling and adherence to health standards. Experience in food service or healthcare cafeterias is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 14 years of age.
• Previous cashier/POS experience.
• Ability to communicate in English for effective written and verbal correspondence.
• Ability to count currency and process payments accurately.
• Ability to meet background checks as required by position.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves food for patients and cafeteria guests.
• Assembles and dissembles patient trays.
• Cashier duties including item entry and discounts.
• Washes, sanitizes and stores dishes.
• Assists with cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Adheres to safety guidelines from the State Department of Health.
• Provides professional and courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for assisting in food preparation and serving and maintaining a clean and sanitary condition in the kitchen and dining areas.

Job Functions

• Prepares and serves food for patients and cafeteria guests.
• Assembles and dissembles patient trays.
• Ability to perform cashier duties that include keying appropriate items for total purchase with applicable discounts.
• Washes, sanitizes and stores dishes.
• Assists with cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Practices and adheres to safety guidelines from the State Department of Health.
• Provides professional and courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience

• Must be 14 years of age
• Previous cashier/POS experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Accurately count currency and apply credit card payments
• Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
• Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task and work independently and in a team
• Ability to complete basic mathematical problems
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in the English language and respond accordingly in order to complete job functions as mentioned above

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in food industry
• Previous experience in healthcare cafeteria
• Serv/Safe certified
• Customer service experience
